Does this product replace any existing Clear Start products?

Yes, it replaces the Oil Clearing Matte Moisturizer SPF15.

How is this product different from the discontinued Clearing Matte Moisturizer SPF15?

While both are mattifying moisturizers with SPF, the NEW Clearing Defense SPF30 is more innovative, technologically advanced, and effective. It features a higher SPF and EnviroShield technology to help protect the skin from UV rays, pollution, makeup, and dehydration—without clogging pores. It also contains the patented TT technology that works with the skin’s microbiome to deliver a long-lasting matte finish.

Why does acne-prone skin need protection?

UV rays, environmental pollution, makeup, and dehydration can worsen acne and oiliness. UV radiation and free radical damage (from pollution) weaken the skin barrier and lead to moisture loss. This triggers overproduction of sebum. Excess oil mixes with dead skin cells and makeup, clogging pores and causing inflammation. Sun exposure also darkens post-acne scars, which are sensitive to light.

Does it contain a chemical or physical sunscreen?

Clearing Defense SPF30 contains a chemical sunscreen.

What areas of the body should Clearing Defense SPF30 be used on?

This product is intended for use on the face and neck. Do not use around the eyes.
